In 2004, Caritas became the distribution center for "gifts-in-kind" products to charitable organizations in Central Texas and beyond through the Wal-Mart Return Center located in Waco. Caritas receives and warehouses a variety of items, then distributes hundreds of thousands of pounds of much needed paper and household items to charitable organizations serving people in need. Agencies receiving these products are asked to defray Caritas' costs through a very reasonable handling fee of $.22 per pound. Hundreds of thousands of people receive the benefits of this program.
