The new Caritas Thrift Store located at 3116-3118 Franklin Avenue is off to a good start since its opening on November 8, 2011. The store hours for this location is Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm. Donations are also accepted Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. During the winter months the store hours will be 9 am to 5 pm, Monday thru Saturday.
The Caritas Thrift Store located at 3016 Bellmead Drive is now open 7 days a week from 9 am to 5 pm. This store has had a new exterior facelift, so please come by and see us.
Both of these Thrift Stores depend heavily upon donations from the public. Items that you no longer need but that are still in good repair and in good working order may be donated at either of the store locations, at our Administrative office at 300 S.15th St., or by calling 753-4593 for a scheduled free pickup.
At either location, the public can continue to donate 4 or more canned goods for a voucher to receive up to $4.00 worth of clothing free.
Both locations are now capable of accepting debit cards and/or credit cards for ease of shopping

Caritas helps anyone who has emergency needs regardless of age, sex or ethnicity. The majority of recipients are residents of McLennan County although there are no geographical limits to receiving services from Caritas. All recipients are interviewed to determine their needs.
Emergency/ Supplemental Assistance is provided in the form of:
• Food
• Utilities
• Clothing
• Prescription Medication
• Household Items
• Travel Assistance

Gifts-In-Kind Program |

In 2004, Caritas became the distribution center for "gifts-in-kind" products to charitable organizations in Central Texas and beyond through the Wal-Mart Return Center located in Waco. Caritas receives and warehouses a variety of items, then distributes hundreds of thousands of pounds of much needed paper and household items to charitable organizations serving people in need. Agencies receiving these products are asked to defray Caritas' costs through a very reasonable handling fee of $.22 per pound. Hundreds of thousands of people receive the benefits of this program.

Thrift Stores |

Caritas of Waco operates two Thrift Stores. One located in Waco and the other located in Bellmead. Both thrift stores are self-sustaining with excess revenues going to support Caritas operations. The thrift stores are open to the public for low cost items, including:
• Quality clothing
• Household items
• Small and large appliances
• Furniture
• Miscellaneous Items
