 BUDDY EDWARDS -  Executive Director
 
Buddy is a life-long resident of Waco, Texas, who attended Waco public schools and graduated from Richfield High School in Waco in 1968. He graduated from Baylor Univeristy with a BA in Sociology in 1972 and obtained a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1976. He worked for 29 years at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center as the Director of Planning and Research and Grants Officer. He came to Caritas as Assistant Executive Director in August 2007 and has been Executive Director since December 2008. Prior to serving on staff at Caritas, he served on the agency's public relations committee since the mid 1980's and was Chairperson of the committee since 2002. Buddy represents Caritas on the Waco-McLennan County Hunger Coalition and is a member of the Rotary Club of Waco . He has served on numerous non-profit boards in Waco and is currently on the board of Youth Connection, Inc. In addition to his time at Caritas, Buddy performs with the 50's-60's musical group, "The Morticians." 
 
    
 
ANN OWEN - Assistant Executive Director
Ann is a native Wacoan who graduated from China Spring High School. She earned her AAS degree in Data Processing from McLennan Community College and received a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Baylor University. Ann has 15 years of fundraising experience, including serving as Development Director for the Waco Symphony Association and VP of Regional Development and Grants for the Girl Scouts of Central Texas. She joined the Caritas staff in April of 2014. Ann is active with the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, is a member of the Heart of Texas Estate Planning Council and the Rotary Club of Waco. She currently serves on the board of the National Charity League-Waco Chapter and is a member of the American Cancer Society's Cattle Baron's Ball Advisory Board. Ann is married and has two children.
 
       
   
Alicia Jallah-Assistant Executive Director
 
Alicia earned her Masters of Arts in Youth and Family Ministry from Denver Seminary in 2009 and her Bachelors Degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2007. She recently joined the Caritas staff in August of 2018. Before coming to Caritas she was the Executive Director of the Lamar County Food Pantry in Paris, Tx.  Alicia is an active member of Kiwanis and is excited to become involved in the Waco community. 
 
    

    

 

Andrew Bryngelson - Volunteer Coordinator

Andrew was born and raised in Waco, graduating from Waco High School in 2007. Andrew received his Bachelors of Business Administration Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2011 and an Associate’s Degree in Motion Graphic Design from Texas State Technical College in 2013. Andrew joined the Caritas staff in August of 2016 and became Volunteer Coordinator in March of 2018. Andrew is grateful to be working in a nonprofit that helps so many members of the community. Before working at Caritas, he interned with SmartBabies, an initiative of the Waco Foundation and was the Youth Leader at Central Presbyterian Church. Andrew enjoys playing board games with his friends and spending time with his family.



 
       

 

SALLY NORLIE - Warehouse Manager

Sally completed her education in south Texas in a small town named Sebastian. Growing up with 9 younger brothers and sisters, she understood what it was to be hungry. Early on, she knew that she would be involved with helping feed hungry people. She started to work for Caritas in 1998 in the Quality Control room in the old Caritas building (now occupied by the Dr. Pepper museum) and is now the Caritas Warehouse Manager.

 
       

 


 
    
 

 

DON TAYLOR - Retail Operations Manager 

 Originally from Davenport, Iowa, Don has over 36 years of experience in retail management. From opening and running stores like Family Dollar, Dollar General and H-E-B, Don realized he wanted to do more to help people and Caritas has given him the opportunity to make a difference. Don is married with two adult children and in his free time he creates digital and graphic art from photos he has taken himself, records music, and enjoys the outdoors.
 
    
  
 


ESTHER MORALES - SNAP Program Director
 
Esther has lived in the Waco, McLennan County area her entire life and attended local schools here. She loves being a Wacoan and is excited to see the growth in her community. Esther has worked in the non-profit sector for the past 30+ years. She helped implement and establish the SNAP Outreach Program in 2005, which was the first of its kind in McLennan County. She serves on several boards and is very active in the community. Esther and her husband, Rudy, have been married for 40 years. Together, they have two children, three granddaughters, and great-grandchildren.
 



 


TAMMY STEVENS - Case Management Director
 
Tammy is a Licensed Counselor and has a degree in Mental Health. She has over 30 years of work experience within the social service field. She has owned several businesses and is a certified grant writer. Tammy has a strong background in case management including a 15-year stint as Case Manager Coordinator with the Economic Opportunities Advancement Corporation. Tammy is married, has 2 adult children and three grandchildren. She shares the love of softball with her two granddaughters that play the sport. Tammy previously served on the Caritas board for several years, so she came in with a working knowledge of Caritas and its mission. She became a part of the Caritas staff in December 2013.
