Applying for federal and state benefit programs can feel overwhelming—but you don’t have to navigate it alone. At Caritas of Waco, we are the largest provider in McLennan County of personalized, one-on-one enrollment assistance.
Our Community Support Specialist will guide you through every step—whether that means creating your online account, helping you complete a paper application, or answering your questions along the way. Assistance is available in both English and Spanish.

Monday – Friday | 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred so we can give you the time and attention you deserve.
Programs We Can Help You Apply For

SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) – Monthly benefits to help you buy healthy food for your household. Eligibility is based on income, resources, and residency in your state.

TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) – Temporary cash assistance for families with children when parents or caregivers cannot meet basic needs.

Medicare & Medicaid for Seniors – Health care coverage for older adults. Medicare is for those 65+ or with certain disabilities, while Medicaid helps those with limited income. Some seniors qualify for both.

Medicaid for Children – Health coverage for children in low-income families. In some cases, children with disabilities up to age 20 may qualify.

Medicaid for Parents and Caretakers – Coverage for parents or relatives caring for a child with Medicaid, if income guidelines are met.

CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program) – Affordable health coverage for children in families who earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but cannot afford private insurance.
What to Bring
To help us get your application processed quickly, please bring:
- Picture ID
- Social Security Number
- Proof of income
- Utility bills
- Medical information (if applicable)
