Hunger & Food Insecurity Relief
Caritas serves as a distribution center where hungry families can receive food. Supplied by donated and purchased foods, hundreds of families are fed every week. In 2021, 27,201 families received food assistance at Caritas. This is an equal opportunity provider.
Caritas Office Hours of Operation Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Please do not knock on the door to gain entry. If you have an appointment scheduled with the Veterans Case Manager, Intensive Case Manager, Federal Benefits Specialist, or you would like to shop in Mama Lovies Closet, please call (254) 753-4593.
Mama Lovies Closet hours of operation: Tuesday and Thursday 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Federal Benefits Specialist hours of operation: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Case Management (Veterans and Intensive) hours of operation: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Pantry Hours of Operation
Pantry Food Distribution hours begin at 8:30 a.m. Food distribution tickets will be issued to clients until we reach our maximum capacity. Once capacity has been met no more food distribution tickets will be issued until 1:00 p.m.
Afternoon Pantry Food Distribution hours begin at 1:00 p.m. Food distribution tickets will be issued to clients until we reach our maximum capacity. Once capacity has been met no more food distribution tickets will be issued for the remainder of the day.
The Caritas Food Pantry is set up to be a supplement to your household food needs. The Caritas Food Pantry may not satisfy all of your household food needs. If further assistance is needed a list of resources will be provided to you upon request.
Pantry Guidelines
- Please follow the instructions given by the Caritas Staff.
- Only (1) household member is allowed to shop in the pantry.
- The amount of food allowed per household is based on your household size.
- Shoppers must have on closed shoes that cover the entire foot to shop in the pantry. Examples: athletic shoes, boots, casual flats and loafers. No house shoes, flip flops, Crocs, or sandals are allowed in the pantry.
- No children will be allowed in the pantry.
- No outside food or beverages are allowed to be brought inside the pantry.
- No mobile device usage is allowed while shopping in the pantry.
- Shoppers will be given a limited time to shop in the pantry.
- Shoppers must be able to unload their own groceries in their vehicle.
- No basket will be allowed out of the pantry unless the shopper’s transportation is onsite.
