Before the pandemic, 26% of Waco families were living in poverty and unable to meet basic needs. Now, during this unprecedented time, more families than ever before, are needing assistance. Your support helps us provide people with not only hope, but food and other emergency services, and the case management resources needed to help them begin their journey out of poverty. Senior Boxes

Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) For Seniors 60+

What assistance will I receive?

Every month, we work in partnership with the Texas Department of Agriculture and the Central Texas Food Bank to distribute Senior Boxes to low-income seniors 60+. Each qualifying senior receives a free box of 25 to 30 pounds of groceries. Exact contents vary, but every box includes cereals, juices, proteins, peanut butter or dry beans, milk, grains, canned fruits and vegetables and 2 pounds of cheese.

Who is eligible for a Senior Box?

Seniors must be at least 60 years old and meet the income guidelines to qualify. Each qualifying senior in a household can sign up separately to get a box. To find out if you qualify for our Senior Box Program, please call our office at 254-753-4593, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM – 10:45 AM and 1:00 PM – 2:45 PM.
